Which impressions could you get on your way from Berlin Airport to here / Cologne?
SuG: The landscapes of course, it's very pretty. When we arrived here in Cologne we visited the famous Cologne Cathedral (third highest church in the world - translator's note) and what we're very proud of: We bought something in a german supermarket and paid with euros.
What did you buy?
SuG: Cola and donuts, though this was a pretty funny story. We wanted one but we got two. The problem was that we had to pay for both. Anyway, they tasted nice so it was okay. (everyone laughs)
What do you think, why do Europeans like japanese music?
SuG: In both Japan and Europe metal is very melodic. This is the reason why we think that japanese rock-music is so popular over here (in Europe - t.n.) It resembles to what european people listen to.
Are you very excited because of tomorrow's concert? What expectations do you have?
Takeru: I'm mostly curious about the feedback since we're not that well-known over here. Furthermore I can't wait to see what differences there are between german and japanese fans.
Masato: I agree to that, I'm really curious about all the feedback!
Yuji: I heard german fans are pretty hot - we want to be even hotter.
Chiyu: Admittedly most fans don't understand the language, but this doesn't bother me because music is the universal language that's simply connective.
Mitsuru: Not only we want to have fun tomorrow but also the fans should have as much fun as possible.
It's not much known about SuG. Please tell us, how did you come to your name?
SuG: It derives from the english word "thug" which means something like friend or mate / pal. We just replaced the "th" by a "s".
Are you also friends in private or just "workmates"?
SuG: We are definitely friends and not only colleagues. We're also doing a lot together in our free time.
Apropos free time. When you're not on tour or in the studio, how do you spend your free time?
Takeru: Preferably I go shopping.
Masato: Well I prefer a relaxed walk. Morever I want to have seen the whole world one day.
Yuji: Privately I'm doing nothing!

Chiyu: I love orcas! (lots of laughter) Yes, I adhere to that and I want to see them in the flesh one day, if in nature or in a zoo doesn't matter. (This seems to have been some kind of 'running gag', Chiyu spoke of orcas in every interview I read from J-Rock Invasion ^-^" - t.n.)

New Year's Eve will be in a few days. How are you going to celebrate?
SuG: With "Soba", those are buckwheat noodles with horsemeat. And together with the whole family of course.
Was there something in 2007 to which you will think back for a long time?
SuG: When we had a studio date for recordings it was oddly always on someone's birthday. That was pretty funny: We always had much fun and partied a lot.
You're pretty far from home, are you homesick or did you bring something from Japan to come through the time?
SuG: We brought a lot from home to sweeten our stay: CDs with japanese music, a Comedy-DVD with all japanese comedians, misosoup, instantnoodles etc.
You're playing together with J-Rock-notables like Kagrra, or alice nine. over here. Does this make you nervous or aren't you touched at all?
SuG: First and foremost we're happy to have the possibility to share a stage with them. We take it as a chance to learn from them to become as good as them one day or maybe even better...
Do you have any idols that brought you to making music?
SuG: Yes, X-Japan was one of the most important ones.
Takeru: I'm a huge fan of Incubus. Unfortunately I never had the chance to see them live...
What makes SuG so special that anyone should give you a try?
SuG: We play music for here and now. Our music is built on rock-music as a base - adding a mixture of pop and punk. One should truly check out this mix!
